Dior Sienna Embrace Eyeshadow Palette- $62 |
The story of our lives is "YouTube made me buy it," right? This one was thanks to Allana Davison. I saw her review on this palette and thought that it looked perfect for a quick, cohesive eye look, and even better for travel. Before Christmas, Sephora sent out $20 off $50 coupons for VIB members, plus I had a $20 gift card to use, so I figured why not pick it up? I mostly stick to warm toned, neutral shadows, so the colors in this are perfect for me. That checks off the use factor for me- this is definitely wearable.

Dior Sienna Embrace Eyeshadow Palette Swatched |
I've gotta say, these shadows do not swatch impressively, in my opinion. It doesn't help that the middle shade basically matches my skin tone exactly. But something special happens when I put them on my eyes. They blend together easily, but don't get muddy. The shades work well together and allow you to add depth to your eye look. This was my first luxury eyeshadow purchase and my first Dior beauty purchase as well, so I didn't really know what to expect. I'll admit, the swatches had me worried but all of the glowing reviews for these shadows made me take the plunge and I am so glad that I did.
I basically do the same eye look that Allana did in her video showcasing this palette. I take the middle shade and place it all over the lid. Next I go in with the light orange shade and buff it into the crease. Following that I take the burnt orange color and also place it in the crease, but with a bit more control. Last, I take the brown and place it on my lower lash line as well as the outer v of my eye. It's perfect for everyday, especially since I wear glasses and can use a little extra definition so that my eyes don't get lost behind them.
Are these shadows groundbreaking? No. Are they nice? Definitely. I'm glad I bought this palette and even more so because I didn't have to pay full price for it. It's not necessary to spend so much on just a few colors, but it is a nice luxury palette that feels special and I will be able to use on a daily basis. Of course the packaging is lovely and it will be perfect for travel. I still love my MAC shadows which I can get at a much better price point, but I would buy Dior shadows again. They blend beautifully and wear well. Bottom line is, if you're in the market for a luxury eyeshadow palette this one is great and I would recommend it. What are some of your guys' favorite eyeshadows?
