It's that time of year again! I wait to make the majority of my makeup and skincare purchases during the VIB sales that Sephora has in the Spring and Fall. This year, Rogue members can shop 10/30, VIB on 11/3, and Beauty Insiders on 11/5. The sale ends on 11/9 for all members. I've started making my list and checking it twice so I'm ready to shop when the sale starts. If you want to see what I'm planning on picking up, and some recommendations on tried and true items that I love, keep reading!

For this sale, I'm mostly focused on picking up skincare items. Some I've tried before, and some new ones too. I'm repurchasing the Kora Organics None Glow Face Oil. I have a few uses left in my current bottle and don't want to be without it. I didn't want to love this product because it's spendy, but my skin reacts really well to it and it delivers the promised glow. Next up on my wishlist is the Summer Fridays Hydration Set. This one includes a mini version of the Jet Lag mask, which I use and love, and full sizes of their lip butter and vitamin C serum, both of which I've heard great things about. The Fresh Jumbo Best Sellers Value Set is another set with one tried and one new product for me. I have used and really enjoyed the Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash before. It's a gentle physical exfoliant that I love for days that my skin is feeling a bit congested. I haven't tried the Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream yet, but have always been curious about it. Not 100% sure I'm going to pick this one up, but it's a contender if I am able to safely sample the moisturizer in store to see what I think first. The Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment is another skincare product that's been on my radar for years that I have yet to try. I love a good acid, so I'm definitely keen to see how well this one works for me. I'm almost out of toner, and I can decide if I want to repurchase the Caudalie Natural Salicylic Acid Pore Minimizing Toner, which I LOVE and have repurchased in the past, or if I want to try something new. The Farmacy Deep Sweep 2% BHA Pore Cleaning Toner with Moringa + Papaya is the new one I'm considering. The Caudalie toner is the better buy given the price and amount you get, but something about the Farmacy toner is very tempting.

Moving on to body products, I am very committed to finally trying The Body Wash by Nécessaire. Both the Sandalwood and Eucalyptus scents sound amazing. I felt the packaging last time I was in Sephora and I love that it's in a squeeze bottle. The Kiehl's Creme de Corps Nourishing Dry Body Oil is the other body product on my list. When Glossier came out with a similar dry body oil spray, I immediately started looking for similar products since I'm not shopping them right now. Kiehl's is a brand I buy often and love, so I'm really excited to try this out for the colder months!

My makeup collection is at the point where I really don't need much, but there are a couple of things I would like to try. When I saw The Anna Edit mention the Fenty Beauty Brow MVP Sculpting Wax Pencil & Styler, I was super intrigued. I've always loved the idea of brow soap, but feel like I wouldn't love wetting a spoolie to get the job done. That's why I love the idea of this wax in a pencil form; application seems so easy, and it looks like it will give that structured soap brow look. The other makeup product that is calling to me right now is the Gucci Poudre De Beauté Éclat Soleil Bronzing Powder. The packaging is so insanely chic and luxe, it is almost too beautiful to use. But let's be real, for that price I'm using it.

Trying new things is great, but I thought I would throw in some of my tried and true favorites as well. During the last VIB sale in the Spring, I ordered a palette that I had been lusting over for years- the Pat McGrath Mothership V in Bronze Seduction. It is definitely nauseatingly expensive, but I really love it. The colors are beautiful and surprisingly practical, and the eyeshadow itself applies very nicely. The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter Pressed Highlighter is another makeup favorite. I love most highlighters, whether they are powder, cream or liquid, but this one is by far my most used. It also lasts forever- I've been working on mine for a few years now. While I'm on the topic of glow, the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter has become a fast favorite of mine. I love the versatility- it can be worn alone, mixed with foundation, or as a liquid highlight.

In the past, I've used this sale as an opportunity to pick up favorite bases, like concealer, or new ones, like a fancy ass foundation for special occasions. My favorite concealer of all time is the Bare Minerals Bareskin Complete Coverage Concealer. My dry skin loves this for both my under eye area and on my face. Most days you can catch me wearing a lightweight tinted moisturizer all over my face, with this concealer under my eyes and blended out on the rosiest parts of my cheeks. If you're in the market for a special occasion foundation for days you want to look extra flawless (or maybe that's your everyday vibe, you do you), the Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation is really lovely. I am not usually one for high coverage on a day to day basis, but I love how lightweight this foundation is. It's great on its own, but even better when mixed in with a glowy product like the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter. If I have a special event that I want to look extra on-point for, that is my go to.

Skincare is a bit trickier to make blanket recommendations for, but two products that I use daily without fail are sunscreen and lip balm. My favorite sunscreen for the past year or so has been the Farmacy Green Defense Daily Mineral Sunscreen. I always choose mineral sunscreen over chemical- I just know that if I am wearing a full face of makeup, I'm not going to reapply a chemical sunscreen. The Farmacy one has a nice texture. It doesn't dry out my skin, it sinks in without leaving a white cast, and it wears well under makeup. There are two things I can't speak to with it though- whether it leaves a white cast on darker skin tones, and how it works for sensitive skin. If you aren't sure about these things, I'd try to get a sample before committing to the full size. My other daily go-to is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. I use this nightly without fail. Nothing else keeps my lips hydrated through the night like it does. I also love that one pot of it lasts forever, even with constant use. It is a great value for the price. So far I've tried the berry, vanilla, and apple lime scents. Apple lime is my favorite, with vanilla being a close second.

I don't buy many hair products; my stylist (Gabrielle Chase at Shade Hair Studio if you're in Vancouver, she is the best!) introduced me to R+Co and it's been love ever since, so I usually stick with their range. One hair brand at Sephora that I can't resist however is Ouai. Everything I've tried from them has been fantastic. I'm also a huge Byredo fan, so when I saw the Ouai x Byredo Super Dry Shampoo in Mojave Ghost, I had to cop. Dry shampoo isn't really a staple for me; I haven't found one that truly works. I would say that the Ouai is the closest I've come though. I can't use this on truly dirty hair and expect a miracle, but if my second day hair is looking a bit lifeless, this helps perk it up a bit and get me through the day. I think that the real draw with this one though is the Mojave Ghost scent. Byredo hair perfume on its own is quite expensive, so this is a great way to get the best of both worlds at a decent price. Invisibobble hair ties on the other hand are a hair non-negotiable. I got rid of all of my other hair ties recently, because these are the only thing I use. They don't leave a dent in my hair and they don't break. There isn't much else to say.

Last but not least, I've got a favorite fall fragrance to share. When I first smelled the Maison Louis Marie No. 4 Bois de Balincourt Eau de Perfum, I was immediately reminded of Le Labo Santal 33. You can check out this blog post here for a more detailed comparison between the two. This scent is warm and creamy, and just wraps you up in a big hug.

I love that Sephora does this sale twice a year; it gives me time to analyze my wishlist and see what I really need vs what I just want. Since they are only six months apart, I rarely make a purchase at Sephora outside of these sales since I know I can save some scrill if I wait. Is there anything new you're excited to try during the sale, or an old favorite you're looking to pick up?
