My makeup routine tends to switch up every few weeks. I'll either get a new product or rediscover an old one and get stuck on it for a while until I move on to something new. I try to be mindful of rotating things in and out pretty frequently, but still like to have some consistency for a few weeks before I move on. This is what I've been wearing for the past few weeks, some of which is new and some of which is well loved.

Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint in Medium

I was very hesitant to try the Glosser Perfecting Skin Tint. There were so many mixed reviews; some people despise it, some are head over heels. I wasn't finding a lot of in between reviews, so I finally bit the bullet and tried it myself. I think the important thing to know going in with this product is to keep in mind what it is pitched as- a skin tint, not a foundation or a CC cream. For what it is, I have been really enjoying this product. I'll squeeze a few drops onto my cheeks and then blend out with a face brush, and it leaves a lovely dewiness behind and slightly evens out my skin tone. It does NOT provide coverage over red spots, and since my cheeks get very rosy I still blend some concealer out onto them, but I love the effect that this gives my face. I would keep in mind that the color selection on these is kind of whack. I ordered a medium, and I have pretty damn pasty skin most of the year. There is some wiggle room since it's not a heavily pigmented product, but I'd try to look for reviews from people with a similar skin tone to figure out what shade might be best.

Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light Plus

The MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light Plus was the first powder that I ever purchased and I still love it to this day. It's pretty much my perfect setting powder, whether for my face or under my eyes. It doesn't look cakey and the color works perfectly with whatever base I put under it. These compacts also last forever. This is only the second one I've had to purchase, and I use it every day that I wear makeup, which is most weekdays and some weekends. I would like to experiment with some other setting powders, but this one is so great I'm sure it will always have a spot in my rotation.

Marc Jacobs Omega Bronzer Coconut Perfect Tan in Tan-Tastic!

I had been eyeballing the Marc Jacobs Omega Bronzer Coconut Tan in Tan-Tastic when it first came out as a limited edition product and kicked myself for not picking it up. I already had another Marc Jacobs bronzer (which I love) in the shade Tantric, and the pans on these bronzers are HUGE. Like I don't know if I'll ever see the bottom. I tried to resist, but something about this gorgeous white packaging and slightly lighter and more neutral undertone of the product spoke to me. When I saw that it had been re-released, I had to snag it. I've gotta say, I still like Tantric, but Tan-Tastic is perfect. It looks so natural and warms my face up in the best way. I also love that it is a matte bronzer, so I have more freedom to go shimmery with my blush and highlight without overdoing it. Another bonus with this is the smell. It's not like I'm sitting and sniffing my makeup all the time, but I am with this. The light coconut scent is lovely and luxurious.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Brilliant Nude

I honestly still have some mixed feelings about the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Brilliant Nude. Obviously I'm including it so I do really like it, but my major qualm is that the shimmer in here can be so noticeable at times. Not always- I find that if I swirl and tap the fuck outta my brush in the pan it doesn't happen as much, but I wish the heavy shimmer wasn't in this to begin with. Hourglass powder products apply so beautifully to the skin. They blend in seamlessly. This color is also perfect. I basically live for shades of brown, and this nude color goes with any eye look or lipstick that I want to wear. It's the pettiest thing, but I hate the Burberry Earthy Blush's packaging so I wanted to find another every day nude blush that won't annoy me as much. This is so close to being perfection.

Dior Diorskin Nude Luminizer Shimmering Glow Powder in Rose Glow

The Dior Diorskin Nude Luminizer Shimmering Glow Powder in Rose Gold is another product that I've been lusting after for quite some time. The only other makeup product that I've tried from Dior are the lip glows, and I wanted to try some of their face products. This gorgeous rose colored highlight is truly beautiful. It's not a subtle highlight by any means, but I'm fine with that. I think this would be especially lovely once I get a bit of a tan on my face (if that ever happens, sunscreen is life). There are other highlights that I like better, for example I think NARS is killing it lately, but I'm still happy with this one. The unique shade, the detailed embossing and the luxe packaging make it fun to use.

Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Medium

If there is something to know about my makeup preferences, it's that I will contour my face every. single. day. I love contouring. I have what I feel is a very round face and being able to add more structure to it with a few swipes of a makeup brush is truly a beautiful thing. I will also not contour with bronzer- I need a full blown, cool toned shadow gracing my cheeks or it's not contour for me, I've been loyal to my Marc Jacobs Contour Powder for a long time, but had to give in to the hype of the Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Contour Powder. I have no regrets about it. The Marc Jacobs contour powder offers a much stiffer formula and goes on very naturally for me. This Kevyn Aucoin powder is much more intense and can be easy to overdo (even for me) so I use a stippling brush and a light hand to apply. Now that they offer a light shade I'd like to try that one as well, since I probably wouldn't have to have such a light touch, but this one is still great. I've had this compact for quite a while, and a little bit goes a long way.

IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil

Since receiving a sample of the IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil, it has earned a steady spot in my makeup rotation. I find that it applies really nicely. It's not too powdery, but also not too waxy, so it's easy to build up to the level that I want without applying too much, The color also works really nicely for me. I'm letting my natural hair come through more at the top of my heady, and this color is pretty much perfect for it. I still love Anastasia Beverly Hills brow products and my Glossier Boy Brow, but I think I might repurchase this once I run out.

Natasha Denona Camel Eyeshadow Pallette

The Natasha Denona Camel Eyeshadow Palette. Where to begin? This palette is overpriced as fuck, but I couldn't let it stop me. It's my dream palette, basically. It has everything that I realistically need, and the pans are a decent size so I think it will last a while. I kept seeing glowing reviews for this palette and others by Natasha Denona, so when I saw it in person at Sephora it was game over. I'm especially into the mustardy brown shade in the middle and the red-brown on the end. Most days I just blend both of them out over my lids and call it a day. I love that there is the deeper brown shade on the far left, so I can add some depth when I want to do a more complex look. The shimmery copper shade is a beautiful lid topper, and the shimmery cream color is perfect to highlight my inner corner. Yes, this palette is expensive, but for me it is very practical so I'm fine with splurging on it. Of course if this shade range is something that you're into, it would be very easy to dupe by buying single pans from somewhere like MAC and popping them into a Z palette. I will say that I really like the Natasha Denona formula. They are more powdery shadows than I typically go for, but I find that they have little kickup or fallout compared to palettes I have with similar formulas, like Anastasia Beverly Hills.

Glossier Lash Slick Mascara

The Glossier Lash Slick Mascara is another Glossier product that had very mixed reviews. I think that mascara in general is hard to recommend to others since everyone's lashes and preferences are so different. I've been a fan of the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara for a while now, which is generally under $10, so I'm not often keen on spending more than that on a mascara. The damn Glossier packaging got me though, and the gorgeous lengthened lash effect I was seeing on people who used this mascara. At $16, I figured it wasn't absolutely outrageous so I decided to try it myself. I think this is a great everyday mascara. It's not super dramatic, it mostly lengthens and separates for me. It doesn't really add volume or curl, but I'm fine with that for a basic every day look. If I wanted a mascara for an event or going out, I'd stick with my Maybelline or try something else, so if you want more oomph from your mascara, I'd pass on this one. The brush is a flexible plastic wand with short bristles, which is pretty different from what I usually use.
